Apple pressing

Universal hydraulic apple presses for extracting juices from apples

Automated apple presses for large production volumes

Apple presses play a central role in fruit processing and are crucial for obtaining high-quality juice. Whether on an industrial scale or for smaller productions - the Bucher HPX presses offer an efficient solution for juice extraction.

They impress with their high extraction performance and minimal trub content in the pressed juice. These presses are versatile and are suitable not only for apples, but also for pears, berries and even vegetables.

Small presses such as the HPL 200 are used for smaller production quantities or research purposes. They offer an ideal solution for pilot trials and small-scale production. With these machines, apple juice of the highest quality can be pressed, while valuable ingredients are optimally preserved.
  • Performance of the HPX presses:
    with apples from 4 to 18 t/h at 82 to 93 % w/w
Yield
  • Press chamber volume 3,300 to 12,000 liters
  • With piston-cylinder system
  • Maximum juice yield with minimum trub content
  • Hygienic, fully enclosed design
  • Proven, unique design

High-quality apple presses for fruit processing companies

The HPX presses work with a piston-cylinder system in which the press piston is driven hydraulically. There are 68 to 180 juicing elements between the piston and the cylinder base, which ensure efficient juicing.

The product is fed centrally into the press, whereby several pressing cycles are required to achieve an optimum result. During one cycle, the piston gently presses the material forward, loosens the pressing residue on the return and rotates at the same time.

This unique combination ensures maximum juice yield with minimum trub content. At the end of the pressing process, the cylinder opens and the pressing residues are discharged.

A self-optimizing control system adjusts the parameters in real time to maximize the pressability of the product and ensure optimum throughput and yield values. In addition, real-time data acquisition provides valuable process and production data for the operator.

What other fruits can be processed?

Pears

We offer solutions for the production of high-quality pear juices with hourly outputs of 1 to 100 tons, always economically, resource-saving and with a special focus on hygienic working methods.

Citrus fruits

In cooperation with Bucher Alimentech Ltd. (New Zealand) and Bucher Exzel S.L.U. (Spain), we are leaders in the debittering and cloud stabilization of citrus juices and peel extracts, as well as in the acid correction of inharmonious juices. Our plants process both clear and cloudy juices.

Vegetable juices

Bucher technologies are characterized by a high degree of universality. They enable quick and optimized adaptation to different fruits. Companies that produce vegetable, pome fruit and berry juices can process all these different products on the same machines.

Berry juices

Gentle crushing in combination with mash heating enables low-turbidity juices and maximum juice and color yields. Our ultrafiltration and microfiltration membranes ensure crystal-clear juices, while the flavor is extracted separately from the juices in the evaporator, simultaneously concentrating the juices into fruit juice concentrate.
