The Bucher Merk Zeodration System uses zeolite reactors to remove water by adsorption. Zeolite, a crystalline clay with a pore size of 4 angstroms, specifically retains water molecules. The selective process ensures that volatile aromatic substances remain in the product as far as possible, resulting in minimal loss of aroma. The low partial pressure during water adsorption achieves a high level of efficiency without compromising the quality of the end product.
A major advantage of the Zeodration system is the combination with vacuum dryers. Both batch and continuous drying processes can be carried out, which enables flexible production. Thanks to the regeneration of the zeolite, the full adsorption capacity is retained, ensuring consistently high product quality. The system shows its strengths particularly in the pressure range of 0.5-5 mbar and offers reliable and gentle drying.
The zeodration systems can be easily combined with Bucher vacuum drying ovens and vacuum belt dryers. Existing systems can be retrofitted to take advantage of zeolite technology. Different dryer sizes are available depending on requirements, with adsorption capacities of 1 to 1000 kg/h of water and heating surfaces of between 0.2 and 325 m², for optimum adaptation to production requirements.
