Dewatering of food waste (coffee grounds)

Discover the future of waste recycling with our innovative dewatering technology - efficient, resource-saving and tailored to your needs.

Environmentally friendly disposal thanks to dewatering of food waste

Dewatering food waste is an important step in waste processing to remove excess water from organic waste. This process significantly reduces the weight and volume of the waste and makes it easier to recycle or dispose of.

Efficient dewatering plays a crucial role, especially for waste such as coffee grounds or other organic residues. Our presses ensure that waste products are effectively dewatered and the recovered water can be fed back into the cycle. This conserves resources and reduces disposal costs while minimizing the environmental impact.
  • Efficient dewatering of solids

Bucher HPS presses for dewatering food waste such as coffee grounds

The HPS presses work with a piston-cylinder system in which the press piston is driven hydraulically. There are 68 to 180 dewatering elements between the piston and the cylinder base, which ensure efficient dewatering.

The biomass, or in this case the coffee grounds, is fed centrally into the press, whereby several pressing cycles are required to achieve an optimum result. During one cycle, the piston gently presses the material forward, loosens the press residue on the return and rotates at the same time.

This unique combination ensures optimum dewatering with minimum trub content. At the end of the pressing process, the cylinder opens and the pressing residues are discharged.

A self-optimizing control system adjusts the parameters in real time to maximize the pressability of the product and ensure optimum throughput and dewatering values. In addition, real-time data acquisition provides valuable process and production data for the operator.
